Here is our Summer Reading List for Kindergarten to 1st Grade!
We’ve had a lot of fun building our summer reading list for kindergarten to 1st grade!
We’re using the Build Your Library homeschool curriculum as our reading list and history reading too. I’ll list what books we’ve read so far and the next one we’ll be starting…
Not all of these are listed for the BYL curriculum.
We haven’t read Charlotte’s Web or Egyptian Diary yet. Those will be next on the list! We’re currently reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Sophia’s FAVORITE so far has been The Tale of Despereaux. She keeps asking when we can read that one again!
What I’m really loving about these books is that there is a mix of fiction and non-fiction (26 Fairmount Ave). I realized that I could explain how some people write stories about things that happened in their own life and some people write stories that are totally made up in their own minds.
This brought up a really fun afternoon of me recounting some random stories I can remember from when I was little. My kids loved hearing about their mom as a kid and it was a lot of fun to connect with them in that way!
I want to know, what are y’all reading this summer?
